Balochistan Tragedy: 12 Innocent Lives Lost in Ethnic Violence
The Implementation of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (IUDHR) expresses deep sorrow and outrage over the brutal killing of twelve innocent individuals in Balochistan, Pakistan. According to reports, these individuals were targeted solely due to their Punjabi identity, highlighting a terrifying rise in ethnically motivated violence.
This heinous act is more than a crime—it reflects an emerging pattern of ethnic cleansing that threatens the social harmony, national unity, and human dignity of all Pakistanis. At IUDHR, we condemn this senseless terrorism in the strongest possible terms.
A Statement from IUDHR on the Balochistan Incident
In an official condemnation statement released on July 12, 2025, IUDHR emphasized that the right to life is a fundamental human right, and no one should be targeted or discriminated against based on their ethnic, religious, or cultural background.
“We are deeply shocked and saddened by this senseless act of violence. Such atrocities are a grave violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and pose a direct threat to our collective peace and security,”
— Ms. Shazia Tasleem Kasi (ASC), President of Women and Children Rights, Pakistan, IUDHR.

IUDHR’s Urgent Call to Action
IUDHR urgently calls on the Government of Pakistan and all relevant authorities to:

- Ensure the protection of ethnic minorities in Balochistan and across Pakistan

We stand in full solidarity with the families of the victims, offering our prayers, support, and deepest condolences. This tragic incident is a painful reminder that hate crimes and ethnic targeting must never be tolerated in any society.
