The Implementation of Universal Declaration of Human Rights (IUDHR) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA), Karachi, Pakistan.
This historic collaboration aims to promote, protect, and uphold the 30 Articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) through joint efforts in legal awareness, advocacy, education, and institutional support.
Areas of Collaboration
Under this MoU, both organizations have agreed to work together in the following areas:
- Legal Support & Advocacy: SHCBA will provide professional legal cooperation to strengthen the implementation of human rights articles under UDHR.
- Awareness & Education Campaigns: Joint workshops, seminars, and training programs will be organized for lawyers, students, and the general public to enhance human rights awareness.
- Documentation & Legal Aid: Both parties will collaborate to document human rights violations and provide legal aid in relevant cases.
- International Engagement: IUDHR will highlight SHCBA’s human rights commitment in international forums, amplifying the voice of Pakistan’s legal community.
Shared Commitment
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Baber George Bhatti, President/CEO of IUDHR, emphasized the importance of legal institutions joining hands with international organizations to safeguard human dignity. Barrister Muhammad Sarfraz Ali Metlo, ASC, President of SHCBA, expressed SHCBA’s resolve to stand firmly with IUDHR in advancing human rights causes both nationally and globally.
This MoU is a non-binding agreement of mutual intent that reflects the shared vision of both parties to uphold justice, equality, and the protection of human rights.
